November 2, 1942 - October 13, 2019
In Loving Memory of Elizabeth (Betty) Daschner. Her beautiful soul peacefully passed on Sunday, October 13, 2019 surrounded by her family after a long fight with Cancer. She missed her 77th birthday by two weeks.
Betty was born on November 2, 1942 in Thunder Bay, Ontario to Joan (Lee) & Lee Williams. She married her longtime friend and love of her life John Daschner in October 1979, he preceded her in death in 1998.
Betty is survived by her daughter Shawna Daschner; Brother Jim (Merle) Cochran and Nephew John Cochran of Barriere; Niece Sandra (Lorne) Spooner of Wetaskiwin; Great niece Courtney Spooner of Wetaskiwin: Great Nephew Evan Spooner of Leduc & Great Nephew Robert Cochran of Vancouver.
She was a dedicated mother first and foremost but all who loved her dearly will never forget her tenacity, wit, charm, sense of humour and her undying love & caring for them.
She enjoyed living a quiet life around the house but always kept herself busy playing outdoors in her garden. Betty enjoyed canning fruits, jams & vegetables or working on some kind of repair project. She made friends everywhere she went and her customers that she delivered the Morning Star newspaper to loved her smiling face. Betty had a vivacious personality, always made people around her laugh and always told you the truth even if it wasn't what you wanted to hear.
The family would like to thank all the wonderful people at the North Okanagan Hospice for making mom's final days easier. Their hard work & diligence is very much appreciated.
Betty was well loved and will be missed dearly. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the North Okanagan Hospice Society in her memory.
There will be a memorial on Sunday, November 3, 2019 at the Eagles Hall. From 1-3 pm. 5101 25th Ave, Vernon B.C
