Elizabeth Duncan Nee: McLean TAYLOR

It is with great sadness we

announce the peaceful

passing of Elizabeth (Betty)

Duncan Taylor, at the age of 87 years, at Noric

House at 10:00 a.m., July 30, 2014 with her lifelong

companion Donald holding her hand until her last

breath. Betty was born in Calgary, AB June 06th,

1927 to Richard and Elizabeth McLean. She was

predeceased by her parents, sister Reva, brother

Norton leaving her the last of the McLean family.

Betty met her husband Donald on a blind date

in the spring of 1945 and was married on May

24th, 1947. Betty worked for Canada Safeway,

Sears, and in later years for Taylor Construction.

She is survived by her loving husband Donald to

whom she was married for 67 years; sons Lawrence

(Evelyn), Ronald (Judith); daughter Victoria

Molloy (Michael); grandchildren Daniel, Marnie,

Jessica, Karla, Vanessa, Myles, Ellen, Louis and

one great granddaughter Alivia. Betty and Don

moved from Calgary to Lumby in 1994 and then

to Vernon in 2012. Due to illness Betty moved

into Noric House until her passing. The family

wishes to thank Dr. Jolly and all the staff at Noric

House for all their kind care for Betty. There will

be no funeral service by request; the family will be

honoring Betty in a private service.

donation in Betty’s name to the Alzheimer Society
