Farquharson, Elizabeth Ruth (nee: Ashbury)
At home with loved ones at her side on April 18th at the age of 80 years. Beloved wife for 50 years of the late Gordon Farquharson D.F.C., Q.C. Loving mother of Ann Farquharson, Robert Farquharson (Lisa) and Jean Howden. Dear grandmother of five granddaughters, Nicole, Meaghan, Leah, Abby Taylor and Kate. Daughter of the late Arlene and James Ashbury of Belleville. Survived by her sister Bernice Moore (Ed) of Vernon, B.C. Pre-deceased by sister Jeanette Thompson and brother Richard Ashbury. Also survived by her niece Sally Farquharson of Kingston and her son Curtis. Elizabeth served her community in many ways for over 50 years and was especially involved with the restoration of Hutchison House and the Pagoda Bridge at Jackson Park. For her efforts she was named Citizen of the Year in 1989. A Memorial Service will be held at ST. PAUL’S PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH, corner of Murray and Water Street, Peterborough on Monday, April 23rd at 4:00 pm, with the Reverend George Turner officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hutchison House.
