Elizabeth Foord

Foord, C. Elizabeth (Libby)(nee Shaw)

Born in Montreal, January 29, 1922 to Ralph and Renee Shaw. Attended Trafalgar Girls School. Spent many happy summers in Huntsville, Ontario, and on Bigwin Island. Met husband Roland at Air Observer School during WWII and married in Montreal September 6, 1946. Was a great swimmer, golfed and continued to enjoy badminton into her 80’s. Volunteered in many ways including women’s auxiliary to the United church and V.O.N. (Surrey), March of Dimes, Meals on Wheels, and Hospital Auxiliary (Vernon). Passed away gently June 24, 2010 at Rotary Hospice House, Prince George, following a stroke. Our Mum was a warm and loving person who always made our friends feel welcome. She is loved and will be missed by daughters Heather (Brock Bailey), Cathy (Glen Davidson), Jan (Bill Cave) and Jill (Roark Timko); grandchildren Connor Bailey (Ann), Jayme Davidson (Steve Hills), Ian Davidson, Tessa Bailey (Andrew Hamilton), Stephenie Cave (Wes Thompson), Greg Timko, Dana Timko and Allister Cave; great-grandchildren Alexis and Alyssa Bailey and Finn Hamilton. Pre-deceased by husband Roland Foord and sister Anne Louise (Susie) Leggat. A celebratory tea is to be held at a future time in Vernon. For information please call 1-250-747-8477 (Jan)
