Elizabeth Clementine Litzenberger
was born on October 6th, 1917 at Melville, Saskatchewan and was called Home to be with her Lord on August 2nd, 2013 at the age of 95 years. We are confident that she was welcomed there with a warm smile and a huge hug.
Elizabeth will be lovingly remembered by her two sons, Ralph (Cathi) Litzenberger and Brian (Karen) Litzenberger of Vernon, B.C.; six grandchildren, Andrew (Barb) Litzenberger, Andrea (Martin Silbernagel) Litzenberger, Jason (Pam) Treleaven, Jamie (Melissa) Treleaven, Marty (Pam) Litzenberger and Matthew (Janet) Litzenberger; thirteen great-grandchildren, Brett, Kylie (Leighten), Hannah, Catherine Ann, Dana, Cameron, Corbin, Zoe, Lily, Finn, Jordan, Ella and Owen; one sister, Eleanora Wildeman; two sisters-in-law, Elvina Yathon and Edythe Yathon; one brother-in-law, Peter Evancio; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members. She was preceded in death by her husband, Otto in 1999; her only daughter, Lynn Treleaven in 1981; her parents, Philip and Eva (nee Presser) Yathon; six sisters, Julia Vickers, Augustina Yathon, Katherine Krieger, Karolina Yathon, Mary Evancio and Frieda Boehm; six brothers, Jacob Yathon, Gustav Yathon, John Yathon, Andrew Yathon, Rudolph Yathon and Ernest Yathon.
Elizabeth was a long time member of Peace Lutheran Church and had a strong faith in her Lord and the Word of God through her entire life. She had a cheerful disposition and always received everyone with a warm and welcoming smile and hug.
The Funeral Service was held at Peace Lutheran Church on Tuesday, August 6th, 2013 at 2:00 P.M. with Pastor Richard D. Schulz officiating. Interment followed in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, those who wish to do so may send donations in memory of Elizabeth to the Peace Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, 1204-30th Avenue, Vernon, B.C. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to all those who have been such a blessing to Elizabeth over the years. Thank you to the Staff at Carrington Place for the care given to her while she lived there. A very special thank you to all the Staff in Cottage #2 at Heron Grove for the love, care and devotion you showed to Elizabeth while a resident there. Warm thanks to Pastor Rick Schulz and the church family at Peace Lutheran Church for being so good to all of us and to the Heidebrecht family at Bethel Funeral Chapel for being here for us at the time of Mom’s passing.
