In loving memory ~

Elizabeth (Bette) was born on October 28th, 1930 to Ernest James Willows and Elizabeth Young David. Approximately ten years later her surname was changed to McLaren following the divorce and remarriage of her mother.

Bette will be lovingly remembered by her husband, John; his son, Glen (Karen); her daughter, Susan (Rick); her son, Steve (Barb), her son-in-law, Claude; six grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren; two half-brothers and their families, Ken (Susan) McLaren and Jim (Susan) Willows. She was preceded in death by her second daughter, Leeanne Murrin and John's son, Mark. Bette will be missed by all who knew her.

Bette was born and raised in Port Coquitlam, B.C. Her first profession was as a legal secretary and court reporter in Port Moody; a full time position with the Ministry of Attorney General's Court Services for thirteen Courts located from Burnaby to Hope. She returned to the City of Coquitlam in 1979 as Administrative Officer - Police, supervising eighteen civilian employees. She held that position with the Coquitlam R.C.M.P. Detachment from 1979 until her retirement in 1995.

The Lord took Bette to Paradise on June 30th, 2024. Cremation preceded a Celebration of her Life which will take place at Grace Bible Church, 5661 Silver Star Road, on Thursday, July 25th, 2024 at 2:00 P.M.

The family wishes to thank Dr. Ed Hardy and the staff at Vernon Jubilee Hospital for the comfort, care and loving kindness that you all gave to Bette. Many thanks to Kerry at Bethel Funeral Chapel Ltd. for his advice and help in making final arrangements. May God bless all of you!
