We regret to announce the death at Vernon Jubilee Hospital on December 8, 2003, of Elizabeth May Anton, at the age of 88 years. Betty was born in England and came to Canada as a war-bride, living in several locations. She was a resident of Calgary for 11 years, prior to moving to Vernon in 1990. Betty was a longtime member of the Alberta WarBrides Association; was a dedicated multiple blood-donor, and loved gardening and golf. She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her husband, John; son Richard (Mary) of Calgary, and daughters: Jean (Eric) Clarke of Newark, England and Susan (Steve) Mertick of Edmonton. She is also survived by a number of nieces, nephews, and extended family members. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, December 12, at 10:30 A.M. in the Chapel of Pleasant Valley Funeral Home, with Father Domingo Cedo officiating. In lieu of flowers, friends wishing to do so may make donations in memory of Betty to the Alzheimer Society of B.C., #20-601 W. Cordova St., Vancouver V6B 1G1. Arrangements are in the care of Vernon Funeral Home. (250) 542-0155.
