ELIZABETH OLIVER McKAY (nee Clinton) passed away peacefully at Pleasant Valley Manor, Armstrong, on Sunday, November 2, 2003. Aged 80 years. Olive, daughter of Thomas and Agnes Clinton and granddaughter of pioneers Thomas and Anna Clinton, was a life long Armstrong resident. She will be lovingly remembered by daughter Arlene Wyenberg of Armstrong, sons Tom (Noreen) Nash of Victoria and Doug (Joanne) Nash of Courtney; step-daughter Betty Burke of Armstrong, step-son Fred (Joan) McKay of McLeese Lake; grandchildren Ryan, Reid, Ryley, Ian, Brian, Maureen, Heather and Kenneth; seven great-grandchildren; brother Jack (Verla) Clinton of St. Catherine, Ont., numerous nieces and nephews and many special friends. Predeceased by husband Kenneth McKay, brother George Clinton, sister Audrey Wipp, granddaughter Debbie Woods and son-in-law Rick Wyenberg. Olive was active in Zion United Church, Armstrong Legion, curling and the Women’s Institute. She had a zest for life, enjoyed fishing, knitting, crossword puzzles and spending time with her family. Over the years she had worked for Scarrows Dept. Store, the Armstrong Co-Op and Shepherds Hardware. A Memorial Service will be held 1:00 p.m., Friday, November 7, 2003, at Zion United Church. Reverend Lorraine Powell officiating. Tea will be served at the Church Hall following the committal in the family plot of Armstrong Spallumcheen Cemetery.
