On Sunday, November 7th, 2004 at the age of 91 years, Elizabeth P. Shaw passed away peacefully into the presence of her Lord and Saviour after a short stay at Polson Extended Care in Vernon, B.C. She is survived by her beloved five children, Mary Holmes of Victoria, B.C., Eva Hubscher (Fred) of Warburg, Alberta, David Hamm (Lynda) of Vernon, B.C. John Hamm (Kay) of Lac La Hache, B.C., Elizabeth Krupp (Douglas) of Kelowna, B.C., grandchildren, Warren, Carson, Lee, Lisa, Darlene, Sharleen, Wendy and Robin, great-grandchildren, Sydney, Taylor, Dani-Ann, Devon, Avery and Hailey, two sisters-in-law Elizabeth Hamm, Margaret Hamm of Edmonton, AB, brother-in-law Martin (Agnes) Hamm of Riley, AB. Her gentle walk of faith in her Lord and Saviour was a true testament to those who knew her. In her most difficult moments she found strength in the Verse of Jeremiah 29:11 and 12 “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord. “Plans to prosper you and not to harm you; Plans to give you a hope and a future, then you will call upon me and come and pray to me and I will listen to you.” Elizabeth was a long time member of the Alliance Church in Vernon. A special thanks to the doctors, nurses, caregivers and friends in particular, Marie, Darlene and Sharon, that provided her with such loving care during recent months. Funeral service will be held on Friday, November 12th, 2004 at 1:00 P.M. from the Pleasant Valley Funeral Home with Pastor Henry Friesen officiating. Interment will take place in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery. A reception will follow in the Pleasant Valley Tea Room. Those friends wishing to make memorial contributions in memory of Elizabeth may do so to the Gideon’s Canada for the distribution of bibles.
