April 10, 1928 - August 12, 2018
Ella was born on April 10th, 1928 in Ravenscrag, Saskatchewan and was called Home to be with her Lord on August 12th, 2018 at the age of 90 years.
Ella is survived by one son, Murray; one daughter, Marlene (Michael); her granddaughter, Lisa (Gordon); great-grandson, Jacob; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members. She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman; her sister, Gerty and brother Henry.
Mom moved with her family from Saskatchewan when she was nine years of age to a farm at Bloomsbury, Alberta. She grew up on the farm and after marrying Norman in November 1951, continued her farming life. Mom always loved being a farm girl and never really let go of those roots.
Upon retirement and after Dad's death, she moved into Vernon. Mom always enjoyed her family and many friends and whenever they stopped by for a visit, she just had to make a pot of coffee and bring out the goodies. And, oh how fabulous her goodies were! Mom extended her generosity and thoughtfulness by delivering trays of baked goods and birthday cakes. She relished the opportunity for conversation and discussing her faith. She will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
Those wishing to pay their last respects to Ella may do so at Bethel Funeral Chapel on Wednesday, August 22nd, 2018 from 7:00-8:00 pm or at First Baptist Church from 10:00-10:45 am, just prior to the service. The Funeral Service will be held at First Baptist Church, 1406-32nd Avenue, on Thursday, August 23rd, 2018 at 11:00 am with interment following in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery.
