In the wee hours of Monday, February 16th, 2004 Ellen Halliday (nee Webb) returned to the loving arms of her beloved Stan, who predeceased her on Jan. 7th, 1999. Ellen was born on December 22nd, 1914 at Edmonton, AB. She married Stan on June 24, 1950 and they spent the early years of married life travelling and living across Canada and Europe. In 1955, their son, David, joined the family, with their daughter, Kathie arriving in 1958. In 1964 Stan retired from the RCAF and they all settled on the family homestead in Aldergrove, B.C. where they stayed and raised their family. In 1991, Stan and Ellen sold the family homestead and moved to Abbotsford. In 2000, Ellen moved to Vernon, where she lived in comfort until her final days. Ellen was a gracious loving wife, mother and grandmother. She is survived by her son, David, daughter in law Patti, their four children: Tanya, Wes, Tyler and Amanda. She is also survived by her daughter Kathie Caterer and her three children: Melissa, Jesse and Samantha. Ellen is also lovingly remembered by her sister Fran Campbell, her sister in law Ruth Johnson, several nieces, nephews and many friends around the world. Memorial service to be held on Friday, February 27th, 2004 at 11:00 A.M. in the Aldergrove United Church, 2623 – 272nd Street, Aldergrove, B.C. Special thanks to the CCN and Dr. D.
