In Loving Memory of Elmer Clifford Benner who was born on July 31, 1921 in Three Hills, Alberta.

Elmer passed away on January 26, 2017 in Vernon, British Columbia at the age of 95.

Elmer was loved, admired and respected by everyone he came in contact with. He worked as a conductor with the CPR and retired from there after 35 years.

He enjoyed life to the fullest; snow birding to Arizona with Vivian in the winter; playing baseball into his early eighties in the summer; camping with the Good Sam Club and always a great game of crib and dancing the night away. In his later years he enjoyed playing pool with the many friends at the Orchard Valley Retirement Home.

Elmer is survived by this second wife Joyce McKnight Benner; sister Helen Zylyk; brother Harold Benner; sons Neil Benner (Margarette) of 150 Mile House British Columbia and Wayne Benner (Lene) of Vulcan, Alberta.

He is dearly loved by his grandchildren Brian Benner (Mary), Sharon Waardenburg (Barry), Kim Benner and Erick Benner (Gail) and his 6 great grandchildren Pamela, Kody, Clayton, Keely, Dylan and Nolan and his many nieces, nephews, cousins throughout Canada and the U.S.A. and his 2 stepdaughters Merle (Hans) and Faye (Adam).

Elmer was predeceased by his first wife Vivian, parents Harrison and Grace Benner, brothers Glenn and Allen and sisters Gladys and Leila.

He has gone to be with family. Rest in Peace.

A Funeral Service will take place on Friday, February 3, 2017 at First Memorial Funeral Services at 1211 Sutherland Avenue, Kelowna, British Columbia at 11:00am with reception and graveside to follow.
