We regret to announce the tragic death at Woods Lake on Friday, March 27, 2009, of Elmer Rodger Willman, at the age of 70 years.
Al was born in Saskatchewan and was a resident of the lower mainland for eight years, prior to moving to the Lumby-Vernon area in 1968. He was an avid fisherman and talented at woodworking, and was active with the Scouting movement in earlier years.
Al will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife Diane of 48 years; sons Lyle and Larry of Winnipeg, Clayton of Lumby, and daughter Shelly Jarvie of Grande Prairie. He was predeceased by daughter Cheryl in 2002. Al is survived by five grandchildren: Dayton, Bobbi, Ryan, Matthew and Nathan, and two great grandchildren: Cheyenne and Marlee. He will also be missed by brothers Eddie (Hertha) and Ernie; sisters Margaret (Arnold), Hilda (John), Elizabeth (Calvin) and Annabelle (Gordon) and numerous extended family members.
Friends are invited to join the family at a reception in the Army, Navy & Airforce Veteran’s Hall on Thursday, April 2, at 3:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Vernon Jubilee Hospital Foundation, 2101 – 32 Street, Vernon, BC V1T 5L2 would be appreciated.
