Mrs. Elsie Marie Marshall was born in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan on July 2nd, 1917 to Edward & Emma Archer and passed away in the Vernon Hospice House on August 30th, 2005 at the age of 88 years. Elsie moved to B.C. in the early 1940’s and joined the Royal Canadian Air Force in 1943. After returning home she started a series of many careers. She was a secretary for the RCMP, an Auctioneer and a Restauranteur in England where fish and chips were her specialty. She was very well read, could out spell and out crossword any of us. Elsie loved high heels, gloves and hats, little dogs, her garden, her friends, a little game of cards and a good splash of rye in her Earl Grey tea. She could be a ROYAL pain in the ass when she wanted to be, stubborn, quick tempered, feisty and gutsy. All of these traits made her lovable and we will miss her very strong presence. Elsie leaves behind her daughter, Elaine, granddaughter, Lisa and great-grandson, Charlie. At 88, Elsie outlived four husbands and numerous friends. Please join us for a celebration of Elsie’s life at her daughter, Elaine’s home, 2504 – 37th Avenue, Vernon, B.C. on Saturday, September 24th, 2005 from 2:00 to 3:00 P.M. As an expression of sympathy, those who wish to do so may send donations in memory of Elsie to the Vernon & District Hospice Society, 3506 – 27th Avenue, Vernon, B.C. V1T 1S4.
