Erna Timm

(nee Lippert)

was born on December 17th, 1926 in Wincentowka, Poland, the youngest of four children born to Julius and Helene Lippert. She was baptized and confirmed in Poland. Erna arrived in Vernon in 1947 with her mother and brothers, Reinhold and Adolph. Her father and brother Paul, both had died in the war. Erna met Otto Timm in Vernon and they were married at St. John’s Lutheran Church in 1951. She attended St. John’s Lutheran Church and volunteered in many capacities over the years. Erna spent her last years residing at Vernon Restholm, a place she really enjoyed being. She had lived in Vernon for 67 years and then on November 16th, 2014, she was called to her eternal Home where she will be forever with her Lord.

Erna and Otto had two children, Lucy (Ron) and Rolfe (Laurie); four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Her memory will be cherished by her family whom she loved dearly. Erna was preceded in death by her husband, Otto in 1993; her parents and her brothers.

The Funeral Service was held at Bethel Funeral Chapel on Thursday, November 20th, 2014 at 10:00 A.M. with Pastor Craig Tufts officiating. Interment followed in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, those who wish to do so may send donations in memory of Erna to the Vernon Restholm Association, 2808-35th Street, Vernon, B.C. V1T 6B5.

We, the family sincerely thank the staff of 3 North at the Vernon Jubilee Hospital and Dr. Lemiski for the care and kindness shown during Erna’s time in the hospital. We also thank her friends for the love and care given during the last few months.
