May 6, 1927 - Nov 29, 2017
It is with a heavy heart we announce the passing of Ernest George Shannon on November 29, 2017.

Born May 8, 1927 in Hazlet, Saskatchewan, he died peacefully at Vernon Jubilee Hospital, British Columbia.

Special thanks to Michelle Miller (Palliative Care Coordinator) an angel. Although many obstacles came his way, he took them all in stride and pushed on.

An active man until the end, he continued to leave his home in British Columbia every spring for the Shannon family homestead in Manitoba.

He was a proud veteran of the Korean war with the P.P.C.L.I. Also a member in good standing of the Legion and Army and Navy associations, a refinery worker, a miner and commercial fisherman and farmer.

He was predeceased by his wife Verla, father Harold, mother Claire, brothers Gordon and Glen.

Survived by his son Sheldon Ernest, wife Rosie, grandchildren: Carrie-Anne, Derek and Ryan; great grandchildren: Brandon, Shannon, Cameron, Tia, Mackenzie, Tyler, Ben, Andrew and Eva.

Also many cousins, nieces and nephews across Canada.

Gone but never forgotten Dad. Love you and will never stop missing you.

As per his wishes, there will be no visitation or service. Expressions of sympathy may be forwarded to the family at www.MyAlternatives.ca.
