Gertrude Estelle Dewar, at the age of 92, went home to be with her Lord at Vernon Jubilee Hospital Wednesday, May 16th, 2007. Born October 18th, 1914 in Calgary, Alberta, Estelle spent her early days in Alberta before moving to Winnipeg, Manitoba where she worked until her retirement. In 1980 she moved to Vernon where she enjoyed her retirement. Predeceased by: her parents, Hazel and Cleveland Donald Dewar; brother Shirley and twin sisters Myrtle and Mildred. Cherishing her memories are her brothers: Donald of Calgary; Everett of Cranbrook; Robert of Victoria as well as a number of nieces and nephews. Estelle will be lovingly remembered by her special friends Gwen and Keray Regan, Mary and Dick Combe and Marion and Don Heath. The Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 A.M., Friday, May 18th, 2007 at First Baptist Church, 1406 – 32nd Avenue, Vernon, B.C. with Rev. Karl Janzen officiating. Interment to follow at Pleasant Valley Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in memory of Estelle may be made to the Canadian Bible Society, 10 Carnforth Road, P.O. Box 29002 Stn.
