July 5, 1929 - December 27, 2018
We regret to announce the passing of Estelle Kristensen on December 27th, 2018 at VJH. Lillian Estelle was born on July 5th, 1929 in Waskada, Manitoba to Royden and Lillian Spence. She was the fourth of six children.
Estelle moved west at a young age settling in Vernon in 1960. She was actively involved in square dance, curling, cross country skiing as well as working full time. In her retirement, Estelle enjoyed volunteering at different places including the Fraternal Order of Eagles (30 years) and Hospice House (25 years).
Mum leaves to mourn three children, Monica (Glen) Inglis, Suzanne (Phil) Bailey and Spence (Heidi) Kristensen as well as 6 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Mum had a special connection with her grandchildren and she enjoyed many hours of fun with them at her much loved Kal Lake cabin. All of us have fond memories of her frequent wise words of advice and humorous cliche sayings.
In lieu of flowers please consider donating to JDRF or volunteering your time to an organization in need. A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
