Esther Desnoyer

1927 – 2010

It is with sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Esther Desnoyer, at the age of eighty-three years, at Hospice House, Vernon, British Columbia on November 16, 2010. Esther was born in Dodsland, Saskatchewan on March 28, 1927. When Esther was very young her father passed away so they moved to Italy, back to her mother’s birth place. One year later, in 1933, they returned to Canada and settled in Vernon. She was predeceased by her parents Johann and Maddelena Hipp, husband Alphie Desnoyer, and brother John Kogler. Esther will be forever loved and missed by her family: son Murray (Cheryl) Desnoyer of Toronto, daughter Dianne Nohr of Vernon, grandchildren Michael, Kim, Mark and Jillian and sister-in-law Mary Kogler. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, golfing, reading, playing bingo and cards. Esther loved her family and will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. A Memorial Mass will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, December 4, 2010 at Our Lady Of The Valley Church (10102 Middleton Drive, Coldstream) with The Very Reverend Dale Normandeau officiating. Those wishing to do so may make a memorial donation in Esther’s memory to North Okanagan Hospice Society (3506 – 27th Avenue, Vernon, BC V1T 1S4). Expressions of sympathy may be forwarded to the family via email:
