ETHEL BERNICE PARKMAN

Passed away February 7 at Oakside Manor, Enderby in her 100th year. She was predeceased by her husband Len, son Eldon, four brothers and two sisters and will be deeply missed by sister Belvia Webber of Kelowna, daughter Lenny (Mauri) Hesketh of Enderby and son Bud of Ashcroft. She was G.G., to her nine loving grandchildren and their spouses and her eight great-grandchildren.

Ethel was born to William and Mary Phillips on November 2nd, 1909 in Keppel, Saskatchewan and shortly after moved with the family to Bowsman, Manitoba. In 1928 she married Len Parkman and they moved to Novra, Manitoba where they raised their three children, moving to B.C. in 1942. Sadly, Len died in an accident in 1982 and Ethel remained in Surrey until 1996 when she moved to Enderby to be close to family.

Ethel was an independent and strong-willed lady who, until last year, drove her own car and loved her card games. She was a great student of English history and the royal family and treasured her many trips to Europe and always had a keen interest in politics.

A memorial service will be held at a later date in Surrey with interment at Valleyview Memorial Gardens in Surrey.
