Eugene Damian ‘Gene’ Wodinsky

October 14, 1943 – October 24, 2021
Eugene “Gene” Damian Wodinsky passed away peacefully at home, with his wife and soulmate of 52 years by his side, on October 24, 2021, after a battle with cancer.
Gene was born in Armstrong BC on October 14, 1943, to Stephen and Anne Wodinsky and leaves behind his wife, Susan Wodinsky and their three children, Stephen, Sheryl, and Scott. He is also survived by his grandchildren Andrew, Brooklyn, Miranda, Steven, Summer & Nevada.
At the age of 9, Gene started driving tractor on the Stepney family farm. After graduating, Gene completed business school and worked shortly for NOCA before started his career with BC Hydro. Gene was the longest standing BC Hydro employee at 58 years (WOW!!!) when he retired in May of this year. Gene was the best joke and storyteller you will ever meet and always met people with a smile.
We will have a celebration of life at our property (outside), while following COVID guidelines. Due to these restrictions, we must limit the attendees, however we will have a live feed starting at 2:45 pm on November 07, 2021 which will be found at https://www.myalternatives.ca/armstrong and will be shared on Facebook (live stream) as well. Like Gene would say “I’ve got one for Yaa” or “have you heard the one about the…..”.
Expressions of sympathy may be forwarded to the family at www.MyAlternatives.ca
