OUCHI, Eugene Masahiko

Eugene passed away peacefully in the arms of his family after a short but courageous battle with cancer at the age of 66 years.

Eugene was born in Vernon, BC and moved to Calgary to attend the Alberta College of Art. He enjoyed a very successful career as a fine artist and graphic designer, and eventually became a Design Instructor at the Alberta College of Art and Design. He is sadly missed by his wife Dorothy and his children Mieko (Kim), Jason and Kevin, by his brothers Lester (Diane), Ron and Conrad (Doreen), his sister Marie (Gus) and dear friends, family and colleagues across Canada.

Eugene was predeceased by his brothers Bob (Connie) and John, and by his parents Edward and Betty Ouchi.

A Celebration of Eugene’s life will be held at FOSTER’S GARDEN CHAPEL, 3220 – 4 Street N.W., Calgary on Saturday March 20, 2010 at 2:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made directly to the “ACAD Eugene Ouchi Scholarship Fund”, c/o ACAD 1407 – 14 Avenue N.W. Calgary, AB T2N 4R3. Expressions of sympathy may be forwarded to the family via the website www.fostersgardenchapel.net.
