EUGENE NOGUE

EUGENE (Gene)

AUGUSTE NOGUE

passed away peacefully at home on October 1, 2011 with his loving wife Agnes and his family by his side.

He was the youngest and last survivor of 12 children born to Joseph and Angelina Nogue on April 12, 1923 in Milly, Saskatchewan. He left his farming childhood behind and joined the Royal Canadian Airforce as a wireless operator during the second world war.

He lived in Saskatchewan and Alberta before finally calling Vernon home in 1973. Gene worked as a salesman for Winman’s, Contract Supply, City Furniture and Sandy’s furniture where many friendships were made.

Gene’s happiest times were spent with his huge family and many friends and performing with his band “ Sentimental Journey”.

He will be fondly remembered for his smile on his face and feet tapping along as his fingers combed the ivory keys!

He is survived by his wife Agnes, his seven children, Joanne (Bob) Allen of Calgary, Terry Lundrie of Pitt Meadows, Jeannie (Randy) Clubb of Calgary, Helen (Kelly) Pord of Vernon, Denis (Eileen) Nogue of Lavington, Michelle (Glenn) Hampton of Vernon and Monique (Rod) Stamer of Vernon, his 19 grandchildren and 15 great- grandchildren, all of whom were able to visit with him a week prior to his passing as he celebrated his 62nd wedding anniversary. He will also be lovingly remembered by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.

The family would like to express a special thanks to Dr. Dippenaar, along with all the other physicians and specialists who cared for him. To the staff in the ER, 2 West and 3 West at VJH, thank you for your special care and understanding. It was greatly appreciated!
