Eva Rose Tench

Eva was born on January 28th, 1926 at Swift Current, Saskatchewan and was called Home to be with her Lord on January 12th, 2010 at the age of 83 years. Eva valiantly endured an immense battle for the past six years after having suffered a severe stroke in 2003 which changed her life dramatically.

Eva will be lovingly remembered by her husband Chester, to whom she was married for 61 years; four children, Cyril (Roberta) Tench of Chilliwack, B.C., Darlene (Mark) Johnson of Abbotsford, B.C., Patricia (Arnd) Beckmann of Vernon, B.C. and Graham (Faith) Tench of Abbotsford, B.C.; three chosen children, Jennifer Rempel of Surrey, B.C., Don Atkinson of Vancouver, B.C. and Michelle (Mark) Vass of Surrey, B.C. and their fourteen children; six sisters, Bertha (Ken) Akers of Brittania Beach, B.C., Ruth (Bob) Dunham of Hedley, B.C., Darlene (Bud) McFarland of Nanoose, B.C., Dianne (Garry) Rabel of Prince Rupert, B.C., Evelyn Waddel of Chilliwack, B.C. and Carol (Gary) Zielke of Langley, B.C.; two brothers, Harry Toews of Princeton, B.C. and Walter (Margaret) Toews of Vanderhoof, B.C.; one sister-in-law, Mary Toews of Chase, B.C.; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Norman Toews and Paul Toews; and one brother-in-law, Bill Waddel.

The Funeral Service will be held at the Church Of God on Saturday, January 16th, 2010 at 10:00 A.M. with Reverend Art Lange officiating. Interment will follow in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery.

Eva was a member of the Vernon Stroke Recovery Club so as an expression of sympathy, those who wish to do so may send donations in her memory to the B.C. The family wish to thank the nursing staff at The Gateby for the wonderful care they gave to Eva while she was a resident there.

The love and compassion shown to her is very much appreciated and will never be forgotten.
