{1923-2010}
Supported by her family, Ev passed away March 26th, 2010 at Hospice House.
Evelyn was born on January 19th 1923 in Richard Sask. Her family moved to North Vancouver when she was a young girl. Ev completed her schooling in N. Van and signed up for the airforce during WW 2. After serving her country in Ottawa, she went to Trail to work for Teck Cominco; there she met and married Roland Ellis. In 1948 they moved to Rossland and raised their six children. With the family thriving, Ev returned to Cominco retiring in 1986. She made the sunny north Okanagan her home, where she made many memories with her sister, friends and family. She was an active woman, accomplished seamstress, and loved a good joke.
Evelyn is survived by Michael [Lynda], Lee Coxford [Richard], Robert, Douglas [Karen], Lynn [Warren], David [Tanya], 8 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and her special friend Jack.
There will be no service at Evelyn’s request. Those wishing to make a donation in Evelyn’s memory may contribute to Hospice House or a community group of their choice.
The family would like to express our sincere appreciation to every care giver who assisted mother in her later years.
