Evelyn will be missed by her great grandchildren: Kyoshi and Benjiro Ohashi, William and Magdeline Paulson, Ella Wiffen, Hunter and Saige Adams, Harlan, and baby girl, Soroka, Alex and Ryker Schnyder, and Sawyer and Jackson Oakes. Evelyn also leaves behind her sister, Madge (Art) Haycock; sister-in-law, June (Ken) Owen, brother-in-law, Wally (Donna) Wiffen; and many nieces and nephews. Evelyn was predeceased by her first husband, Allan Richardson, in October 1954; her mother and father, Odeile and Edward Norman; and her sister, Margaret Favelle.

Evelyn knew the value of hard work. She worked at OK Telephone before she and Allan purchased Lincoln Lanes in 1969. She worked both jobs at first to get the business going. Hard work paid off and Allan and Ev spent time travelling and enjoyed winters in Mesa, Arizona until Ev’s health began failing. Many lasting friendships were made at the bowling centre and in Mesa over the years. She loved sitting and cross-stitching, crocheting blankets for her grandkids and doing puzzles. Watching Wheel of Fortune, Jeopardy and playing crib were Allan and Ev’s favourite pastimes. Ev also loved her cookies - sometimes Allan couldn’t make them fast enough.

Both Allan and Ev have resided at Creekside Landing for the past 2 years.

The family would like to thank the staff at Creekside for caring for Evelyn during her last years.

At Evelyn’s request, a funeral will not be held. Memorial donations, in lieu of flowers, may be made in Evelyn’s name to the Alzheimer Society of Canada.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
