We regret to announce the death at Hospice House on June 26, 2004 of Miss Evelyn Ungaro, at the age of 76 years. Following her training at St. Paul’s Hospital in Vancouver, Evelyn practiced as an R.N. at Vernon Jubilee Hospital for more than 30 years; many of them as a Nursing Supervisor. She was a music-lover; an avid stampcollector; a doglover; and a great story-teller with a huge sense of humour. She will be remembered as a loving and generous person, who was godmother and aunt to many. Evelyn was predeceased by her parents and by one brother, Wayne Ungaro, in 2000. She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her brother, Rudy (Joyce) of Maple Ridge; and seven nieces and nephews: Gary (Gill) of Vancouver, Randy (Laura) of Maple Ridge, Janice of Los Angeles, Janine Bitters of Maple Ridge, Gina of Coquitlam, Danielle (aka Sassy) of Vancouver, and Darcy (Tanya) in New Zealand; as well as many extended family members. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. James’ Roman Catholic Church on Saturday, July 3, at 2:30 P.M., with the Rev. Father Martin Peyton, celebrant. Friends wishing to do so may make donations in memory of Evelyn to Hospice House, 3506-27 Ave., Vernon, V1T 1S4. Arrangements are in the care of Vernon Funeral Home. 542-0155.
