June 9, 1937 - April 22, 2021
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our beloved mother in the Vernon Jubilee Hospital at the age of 83 years. Faye was born on June 9th, 1937 in Rosetown, Saskatchewan and was called Home to be with Jesus on April 22nd, 2021.
Faye will be lovingly remembered by her four children, Patrick (Trudy) of Vernon, B.C., Steve (Jane) of Prince George, B.C., Karen (Dan) Valgardson of West Kelowna, B.C. and Donald (Alice) of Coldstream, B.C.; eleven grandchildren, Michael, Brian (Stephanie), Jordan (Jennifer), Dan (Shelly), Cody (Hayley), Rebecca (Leon), Nikki (Kyle), Layton (Miriam), Lee, Katelyn (Ray) and Logan; nine great-grandchildren, Zoe, Lincoln, Emery, Karis, Silas, Jayden, Selah, Summer and Anna; two sisters, Marie Billet of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan and Doris (Bill) McGill of Abbotsford, B.C.; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members and dear friends.
Mom has now been reunited with her husband and our father, Bruce Layton Ramsey whom she worked side by side with on the farm in Lumby, B.C.
She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Don, George and Vern Mills.
Faye loved and adored her children and grandchildren but especially enjoyed connecting with her great-grandchildren again during the past four months using FaceTime. She also loved all the phone calls and visits from family and friends.
Faye's hands were always busy; making bread, preserving and canning everything out of her large garden as well as tending her beautiful flowers. She was a member of a Quilting Guild where she was inspired to create many beautiful quilts as well as being active in her church community where she volunteered in the ladies group - Helping Hands - quilting blankets for missions.
Faye stayed active with her husband curling, cross country skiing and taking long walks together. As a mother, she was a hard worker and taught her children by example how to be the same. Besides taking care of her family, the household, the gardens and helping her husband with the animals, she was a bookkeeper for the farm and his Logging Company.
Faye was a teacher's assistant at the ACE School at Hope Chapel and later worked as a Home Support Worker with seniors who needed help in the Lumby area so they could remain in their own home.
A private Graveside Service for those invited to attend by the family will be held on Friday, May 7th, 2021 at the Pleasant Valley Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, those who wish to do so may send donations in memory of Faye to the B.C. Heart & Stroke Foundation, #4-1551 Sutherland Avenue, Kelowna, B.C. V1Y 9M9
