Fernando Loo passed away peacefully on March 18, 2007 at Vernon Jubilee Hospital. He is survived by one son, Danny (Phyllis) of Vernon, one daughter, Judy Lee of Vernon, six grandchildren, Justin and Eric Loo of Vernon, Dorris Chong of Vancouver, B.C., Douglas Lee of Vernon, Jennifer (Philip) Woo of Calgary, Alta, Monica (Gabriel) Lee-Gock of Vernon, four great-grandchildren, Jeremy and Courtney Woo of Calgary, Alta., Cameron Lee-Chong of Vancouver, B.C., and Ava Lee-Gock of Vernon. Fernando Loo was the former proprietor of People’s Store on 27th Street in Vernon. Prior to his arrival in Vernon, Fernando resided in Cuba for ten years and operated a restaurant during that time. Fernando was predeceased by his wife Suey of sixty years in 2001 and his son-in-law, Ken Lee in 1988. Funeral Service for the late Fernando Loo will be held from the Chapel of Pleasant Valley Funeral Home, on Sunday, March 25, 2007 at 11:00 A.M. Mr. Brian Jackson officiating. Interment will follow in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery. Those friends wishing to make memorial contributions in memory of Fernando may do so to the Vernon Jubilee Hospital Endowment Foundation or the Vernon & District Hospice House.
