Ferne “Audrey” Stutsky was born Oct. 26, 1918 near Woodbay, Manitoba and passed away on Nov. 7, 2007 in Vernon Hospital at the age of 89 years. Ferne is survived by Vic Stutsky, her loving husband of 55 years and their treasured daughter, Maureen; brothers Arnold (Speed), Smitty and brother-in law Frank Stutsky, adoptive daughter Linda (Dan) and their children Michael and Paige, nephew Barry (Wendy) Stutsky and their children Marnie and Brent.
Ferne was predeceased by her parents, Mona and Harry Mussel, and sister. Ina (Robert) Rutherford. Ferne and Vic spent most of their years together in BC, retiring in Vernon. Ferne was a long time member of the United Church, an active volunteer with Venture Training in Vernon and member of the Power Pioneers. She was a founder of the Sheltered Workshop for the handicapped in New Westminster, BC, and, as with all of her endeavors in life, she gave tirelessly of her time, energy and effort.
Celebration of Ferne’s life will take place on Saturday, November 17th at 1:30 PM in the chapel of Pleasant Valley Funeral Home with Mr. Brian Jackson officiating. Interment will follow in Pleasant Valley Cemetery, reception to be held in the Pleasant Valley Tea Room.
