Florence Coulter (Reid) passed away peacefully in the Vernon Jubilee Hospital on October 30th, 2002 at the age of 79. Born and raised in Nova Scotia, she served in the RCAF during World War II, married Lionel Coulter in 1945 and moved to British Columbia with her family in 1956. She lived in Vernon since 1985 and, as she so very much wanted, in her home on Pleasant Valley Road until a few days before her death. She and Lionel, who predeceased her in 1991, had three children ˆ Eileen who died in a car accident in 1983, Keith who lives in Ottawa and Joan who lives in Kamloops. She also had three grandchildren ˆ Andy Henycez who lives in Sydney, B.C., Sheri Bernhardt who lives in Shomberg, Ontario and Keegan Coulter who lives in Toronto. Florence will be remembered and loved for, among other things, her fierce independence, her incredible generosity and her unique, highly vibrant spirit. She requested no funeral or service. Those who wish to do something to express their sympathy are invited to send donations in memory of her to the SPCA.
