Mrs. Florence Mary (Flo) Netzel passed away at Bastion Place Extended Care Facility in Salmon Arm, B.C. on Tuesday, December 12th, 2006 at the age of 84 years. Mass of Christian Burial was held from St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, Revelstoke on Friday morning, December 15th with Father Ramon Basilla celebrant. Cremation with interment of the cremated remains to take place at a later date in the family plot of Mountain View Cemetery, Revelstoke. Hospital Foundation, P.O. Bag 5000, Revelstoke, B.C. V0E 2S0, in memory of Flo. Flo was born in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan on August 10, 1922. She moved to Revelstoke in 1951 and lived here until moving to Sicamous six months ago. Flo was a member of the Queen Victoria Hospital Board and the Hospital Auxiliary, St. Francis Church Choir, Kinette Club, K-39’s and K-40’s. She was an active member of the community who always had time to help anyone with a kind word, deed or smile. Family was very important to Flo and she loved her children and grandchildren dearly. Flo was predeceased by her husband Stan in 1994, sisters, Maisie and Kay (Kathleen), brother John and grandson Ryan. She is survived by three sons: Murray (Darlene) of Sicamous, Tom (Nancy) of Sicamous and John of Revelstoke; one daughter Maureen (Brian) McGarry of Calgary; grandchildren: Jonathan & Jordy of Calgary, Darron (Burrita) of Vernon, Melissa (John) of Edmonton, Kari of Vancouver and Kelly of Kelowna; great grandchildren: Courtenay & Calvin of Vernon
and Rory of Edmonton; one brother, Harry (Edna) Whelan of Vancouver and one sister, Margaret Dillon of Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan. Arrangements were in the care of Brandon Bowers Funeral Home, Revelstoke.
