Vilma was born Oct. 30,1929 in Detroit, Michigan and at the age of 89 passed away peacefully, with family by her side, at Vernon Jubilee Hospital on January 7, 2019. Vilma was the oldest child of Philip and Florence Schneider and sibling to three younger sisters. As a young child she moved with her parents to Vancouver, BC. It was here as a young woman where she met, fell in love and married her predeceased husband, "Harry", of 54 years. They built a happy life together having 7 children (1 daughter and 6 sons). Their adventures included many moves while Harry worked with BC Rail. They owned and operated Hallmat restaurant in North Vancouver and Fallenrock campground on Mara lake. Later they enjoyed many winters with their friends in Yuma and spending time with friends and family at Birch Bay in Washington.
Vilma had a deep love for her children, their families and was a very loving mom, nana, sister and friend to all. Her faith was resolute and always a present influence throughout her life's journey.
She will be missed immensely and remembered with grace.
A service will not be held at his time. The family will honour a celebration of her life in the spring, when the flowers are blooming.
