FRANCES JUNE “BERNICE” MORLAND, aged 77 years, passed away peacefully at her Armstrong home, “Woodland Haven” on Wednesday, December 1, 2004. She was born near Wingham, Ontario, to Ada & Reuben Appleby on June 17, 1927. On September 21, 1944, she married Wallace Morland and they had five children together. Wally predeceased Bernice in December 1981. Bernice met Hugh Louttit in Armstrong and they had a full and happy life together. Hugh pre-deceased Bernice on October 30, 1999. Woodland Haven on Dodds Road was dearly loved by Bernice & Hugh and they leave the legacy of a Bird Sanctuary there to commemorate their love for one another and nature. It was there that Bernice wrote some of her finest poetry. She belonged to local writers groups and was often published. Bernice worked as a Homemaker for many years, was known for her baking skills and her compassion for people and animals. She will be dearly missed by her children Don (Jackie) of Enderby; Dale (Nalda) of Kitchener; Diana (Charlie) of Kitchener; David of Armstrong and Doug (Sharon) of Shaunessy, Alberta. She also leaves the legacy of ten grandchildren Tracey of Enderby; Dan (Laurie) of Canoe; Ian (Heather) of Little Britain; Sonia (John) of Cambridge; Sherry (Ivan) of Kitchener; Selena (Paul) of Waterloo; Kalina of Baden; Lesley-Anne of Kitchener and Ben and Cassidy of Shaunessy; 13 great grandchildren; special friends Norma, Donlea, Ray, Io, Marg and Mabel. A Memorial Service will be held 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 7, 2004, at Zion United Church. Reverends Ken Jones and Lorraine Powell officiating.
