Francis Dangel

Francis Anthony Dangel passed away suddenly at Vernon on February 22, 2007 at age 75. Frank was born in Enderby June 6, 1931, grew up in Grindrod and continued to live there until moving to Mara in 2004. He left school at an early age to farm with his father and went on to become a livestock dealer, then added OK Stockliners Trucking. He was always concerned about the livestock industry and became involved in the Cattlemen’s Association. He played as hard as he worked – he played ball sponsored and coached the Grindrod Elks Hockey team, raced pony chariots and chuck wagons. He was a fierce competitor and a feisty character but always had time to help his neighbour. Frank will be sadly missed by all who knew him. He leaves to mourn his loving wife Mae of 52 years, daughters Cindy and Judy (Darryl Tucker), sister Helen (Bill) Kerby of Red Deer, brother-in-law Jim (Lou) Sutherland of Enderby, nieces, nephews and many young people who have been touched by his life. He was predeceased by his father and mother, sister Marie and brother Max. The family wish to thank the staff of Polson “Special” for the TLC they gave Frank during his stay there – we will be forever grateful. A Memorial Service to celebrate Franks life will be held 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 3, 2007, at Armstrong Bible Chapel, Armstrong. Reverend George Rands officiating. A reception will be held following the service. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Alzheimers Society or Canadian Cancer Society in memory of Frank.
