We regret to announce the death at Vernon Jubilee Hospital on May 23, 2004, of Mr. Fred Beckholt, at the age of 88 years. Fred was a veteran, serving as a frontline medic with 11th Field Ambulance during World War Two. He moved to the North Okanagan in 1946, and was well-known in Armstrong, Vernon and Kelowna for over 55 years. Fred was predeceased by his wife, Ruth, in 1995. He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his loving companion, Jo Oleksow of Vernon; children Larrabie (Wendy) Beckholt, Rick Beckholt, and Candee Eckert; and grandchildren: Michelle, Kim, Maette, Jason, Chad, Lane, Cami, Kristin, Cole and Zach; and 9 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by brother Carl (Ellen), and sisters Ruby (Alec) Befus, Lorraine Mennear, and Vera Dwizenka; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members. Cremation will be followed by a Celebration of Life Service on Friday, May 28, at 1:00 P.M. at the Seventh Day Adventist Church, 1802-45 Ave., in Vernon.
