It is with heartfelt sadness we announce the passing of Frederick Nelson Burke on August 14, 2016 in Vernon, British Columbia. Frederick was born January 11, 1949 in Victoria, Newfoundland. He will be forever loved and his memory cherished by his wife Rosanne, Vernon, BC; sons Michael (Michelle) and their children Tyler and Ashley, Vernon, BC, Stephen (Elsy) and their children Natalia and Estela, West Kelowna, BC. Frederick is further survived by his sister Jeanette (Michael) Penney and their children Melisa and Adam, Victoria, NL; brothers Ned (Cavell) and their children Kym and Rob, Wabush, Labrador, David (Cindy) and their children Terry and Bradley, Lab City, Labrador. He is predeceased by his parents Hubert Burke and Ethel (Coles) Burke, Victoria NL and sister Elizabeth Burke, Victoria, NL. Fred was a devoted husband for 44 years, a loving father and grandfather. His greatest joy was seeing his grandchildren to spend time with them and watch them grow. He will be deeply missed by the entire family and the many friends he made during his lifetime. A Celebration of Life will be held for close family and friends at 5:00 p.m. Saturday, August 20, 2016 at the family residence (2111 15th Street, Vernon). There will be a public military service to be announced at a later date.
