1931 – 2009
Frida Hoover, a lady who will always resonate with her tremendous spirit, passed away on August 24th, 2009.
She is survived by her husband, Herbert Charles Hoover. She will be greatly missed by her daughter, Tamara Coulson (and Ken), Nathaniel and Carlin; her brother, Fritz Glaus (and Madeleine); nieces and nephews, Laura, Paula (and Pablo), Franz (and Fiona with Moria), and Stephan (and Amanda). She is also survived by a large extended family whom she loved and cared about: Karen and Bob Hassard, Marni and Doug Insley with Georgia and Jessie, Lorne and Carol Hoover (with Janell and Irvine), David and Donna Hoover, Kerry (with Nathan and Katelyn), Kirsten (and Darrell Peck and Kira and Jaron), Zilia, Luisa, Maida, Debbie (and Kevin), Consuelo, Olivia, Jacqueline and Angelica.
Frida, born in Riga Latvija, was raised in Switzerland where she really connected her cultural roots. In her young adult life, Frida moved to England where she accomplished further schooling. In 1957, Frida, her mother and brothers, immigrated to Canada with Frida choosing Vernon. She was an avid lover of the mountains, a beautiful skier and had a passion for horses. Frida was fun loving and active with adventure and determination in all she pursued.
A gathering to celebrate the life of Frida Hoover will be held in the Tea Room of Pleasant Valley Funeral Home on Saturday, August 29th, 2009 at 11:00 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, those friends wishing to make memorial contributions in memory of Frida may do so to a charity of choice.
