We are sad to announce the passing of Gary David Illerbrun on November 7, 2016 in Calgary, Alberta.

He was born to Dolores and Bill Illerbrun on September 28, 1951 in Vernon, BC.

He was predeceased by his father Bill and sister Lori. He is survived by his mother Dolores Culling of West Kelowna, BC and brothers Wayne (Jo-Ellen) of Vernon, BC and Michael (Lori) of West Kelowna, BC.

He spent his childhood in Falkland armed to the teeth with sling shots, bows and arrows, slings, BB and pellet guns and a 22. As a young man, he worked in a sawmill where he lost his trigger finger. He took a settlement and travelled to Europe and Morocco. He had a few years working for CNR as a brakeman. Gary had many years “outside the Grid” and several years as a “stove mechanic” rebuilding antique stoves with his pal Ray. They made many trips across Canada and into the United States picking antiques and stoves, the original “Canadian Pickers”. His love for driving was reinforced by those marathon trips. He spent his last years working as a sandblaster in Calgary.

There will be no service at this time, but a memorial will be planned in the spring.
