Genevieve Elberta Roraph-Erickson (nee Lee

Born in Wetaskiwin, Alberta, to Albert and Minnie Lee, Genevieve passed away peacefully in the Vernon Jubilee Hospital, Vernon at the age of 93 years. Geny was predeceased by her parents; five brothers Norbert, Vernon, Vivian, Leland and Ansel; two sisters Luella and Zermah; daughter Darlene and granddaughter Angelina. She was also predeceased by husbands Tony Roraph and Ben Erickson. Geny is survived by brother Milburn Lee (Audrey) of Sundre, AB; sisters Lois Johnson of Castlegar and Marjorie Wood (Harvey) of Enderby; children Jerry Roraph (Vickie) of Enderby, David Roraph of Boston Bar and Carol Kohlhofer (Bruce) of Campbell River; son-in-law Chris Podeur of Courteney; nine grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and six great great-grandchildren. Geny was a wonderful mom, an awesome grandma, an incredible sister and good friend to so many over the years. She will be remembered and was well known for her sense of humour. She loved to tell and hear jokes and always thought “A good laugh is sunshine in the home”. Music was a big part of her life and she loved to dance. Geny had played the piano all of her life and her music was enjoyed by many. The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude for the years of care and friendship Geny received from the wonderful staff at Pioneer Square, Armstrong and to 3 West of Vernon Jubilee Hospital for Geny’s last two weeks. You showed her respect and compassion, Thank You! A Celebration of Life for Geny will be held 3:00 p.m., Saturday, August 28, 2010 at St. George’s Anglican Church Parish Hall, Enderby.
