It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the passing of George Makarenko. George spent most of his life as the owner of various businesses: Evergreen Motel, Princeton; Corner Store, Vancouver; Schell Motel, Vernon. After selling the motel he worked at Consumer's Glass and then sold real estate locally. Predeceased by his loving wife Fern and infant daughter Joannie, George is survived by his daughters Janis, and Bonnie (Peter) Rook, granddaughter Crystal Huls, two brothers Steve and John Makarenko and many other family members. George's jokes were endless and he loved when he could make people laugh. He will be missed by all. Thanks to the amazing staff at Heron Grove and Dr. J. Henley.
