With heavy hearts we announce the sudden passing of George Patrick Harrison in the Vernon Jubilee Hospital at the age of 72 years.

George will be remembered with love by his wife, Sally; one son, Kelly Ryan (Kelly) Harrison and granddaughter Ada; two stepsons, Brad Hutton and Andrew (Kim) Hutton and grandson Gordon; one brother, Brian (Jeanette) Harrison; two sisters, Marlene (Darald) Marin and Karen (Jake) Loose; as well as his nephews and nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Elwin and Agnes Harrison and one granddaughter, Raidyn Harrison.

George was raised on the family farm at Ceylon, Saskatchewan until he became a heavy equipment operator, which found him working on roads in Saskatchewan, Alberta and B.C. and then on the Revelstoke Dam.

He volunteered with both Community Policing and Crime Stoppers in Vernon for eighteen years. After retirement George and Sally were lucky enough to travel across Canada and go on several Wells Gray Tours. George will best be remembered by many for his Tilley hat and walking cane.

Cremation preceded the Funeral Service which will be held at Bethel Funeral Chapel on Thursday, December 7th, 2017 at 2:00 P.M. with Deacon Paul Murphy officiating.

A Reception will follow in the Bethel Tea Room.

George was a great lover of flowers so the family would gratefully accept floral tributes. He was also a diabetic for 52 years, so those preferring to give memorial contributions in his memory rather than sending flowers, may do so to the Canadian Diabetic Association, 1589 Sutherland Avenue, Kelowna, B.C. V1Y 5Y7.

Funeral arrangements have been made with BETHEL FUNERAL CHAPEL LTD., 5605-27th Street, Vernon, B.C. V1T 8Z5
