A very kind and honorable man has passed away. His name was George E. Tilton. His wife of 30 years, Florence Tilton passed away in 2007.

Mr. Tilton’s surviving family will miss him terribly. George Tilton leaves behind his only child a daughter, cherished her whole life, Annita Maureen Wright of Vernon, BC.

A grandson Vincent R. Wright and his wife Lisa, daughter Elizabeth A. and son Jackson George Wright of Vernon, BC. A grandson Justin A. Wright of Vancouver, BC. The boys (Vincent and Justin) and great grandchildren were the pride and joy of his life.

George Tilton also leaves behind his older sister Eileen Elford and her children Juanita Murrell and family of Abbotsford, BC. Colleen Buis and family of Clinton, BC. Gary Elford and family of Chilliwack, BC. He loved all the family and had special place in his heart for the girls, Juanita and Colleen.

He leaves behind his sister Marion Vernon’s son, Ross Vernon and family of Heffley Creek, BC. Janet McNally’s son Lyle D. Hillaby of North Vancouver, BC, his son in law Robert M. Wright of Revelstoke, BC, and many more of his extended family.

For a lot of his life he was a skilled outdoorsman and avid gardener. He was a WWII veteran and had a 40 year career as a CPR conductor at the Kamloops Division. After retirement he found pleasure in curling, card games and Sunday family dinners. George E. Tilton will be remembered for his love and support for his family and his concern and help to his friends and other people in his community.

A gathering in memory of George Tilton will be held at Paddlewheel Hall in Vernon, BC on Sunday, May 2, 2010 from Noon-4PM with a lunch at 1PM.
