George Benjamin

George Benjamin Trombley passed away peacefully at 7:15 pm on April 15, 2012 in the arms of his loving wife of 54 years, with his family at his bedside, at the Shuswap Lake General Hospital, Salmon Arm, BC. George was born on January 27, 1941 in Timmins, ON. He enjoyed spending time with family and especially his many grandchildren. His two main passions in life were fishing and playing crib, in which he was blessed with two – 29 hands. Prior to his passing, his last wish was to go fishing, unfortunately he was unable to do the last trip, but was pleased to know his grandsons where able to take his boat out and catch his last fish. George was predeceased by his parents Ben and Olive, and sister Joyce and Eileen. He will be sadly missed by his loving wife Marilyn; his children Kathy (Jeff) Hecker, Sheila (Bill) DeMaid, Theresa, John; his 11 grandchildren; his 9 great-grandchildren; his brother Harvey; his sister Muriel and his many nieces and nephews. George’s family is his legacy – “Well Done Dad!” A Remembrance and Celebration of George’s Life will be held at his daughter Sheila (Bill) DeMaid’s residence (2355 Van Kleeck Road, Armstrong, BC) at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, April 20, 2012.
