Gerry passed away at Vernon Jubilee Hospital in Vernon on May 15, 2018. Gerry was born in Trail, British Columbia on April 14, 1934, the second youngest of eight children, to Elisabeth and Calven Creelman. As a child his family moved to Clayburn BC where he met and then later married his high school sweetheart Doreen Keyes on Feb 6, 1953. They made their way to Vernon in 1960 to put down roots to raise their young family.

He is lovingly remembered by his 6 children Kathy, Greg, Rob (Mandy), Rich, Lester, Patric; his grandchildren Sarah, Adam, Chris, Eddie, Shandra, Kelly, Debbie, Ben, Alexa and Morgan; his great grandchildren Bradley, Thomas, Keegan, Nicholas, Kristopher, and Kyler; his wife's sisters Muriel Hunt and Shirley Evans and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is predeceased by his wife, Doreen, his mother, father, granddaughter Lisa, great granddaughter Alicia and great grandson Dylan. All of whose lives have been profoundly touched and shaped by Gerry's gentle gracious spirit.

He was a steadfast father, a caring grandfather, a loving husband, and a dear friend who believed emphatically that he was a spiritual being living a human experience. Gerry was inspired by the mystery of the creative energy that manifests itself in all things. This reverence was integral to his artistic endeavors such as playing the drums, oil painting, refinishing pianos and ornamental iron welding and was most apparent in the good, orderly discord through which he conducted his life. The pursuit of knowledge and the study of philosophy and spirituality were the cornerstones of the life he enjoyed. He opened his heart and his home to many people in many ways. Gerry will be missed, honoured, and forever remembered for the man he was to all of us.

His family would like to express their gratitude and appreciation to Dr. Fred Dyck for the care he provided to Gerry for so many years but especially for his compassion and kindness during Gerry's final few months.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Schubert Centre on Monday May 28, 2018 at 2 pm in the Emerald Room. Access to service is via the east entrance.
