In loving memory ~
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Gerald Mitchell Batula. Jerry was born January 23, 1944, in Rose Valley, Sask. to the late Mitchell and Ileen Batula.
Jerry was raised in Rose Valley, Sask. with his 5 siblings. He attended the Vernon Army Camp in the summers of the early 60s, where he met his future wife Dauphne (Brown) in Polson Park. Jerry and Dauphne were married on May 20, 1967.
He will be lovingly remembered for his quick wit and great sense of humour by his 3 children, Wendy (Sean), Debbie (Mike), Gary (Amy) and his grandchildren, Jesse, Corey, Branden, Thayne, Sophia, Emily, Lillie, Graeme, Carrick, Declan, and Aleriane.
Jerry was an entrepreneur and loved a challenge. He was a Red Seal Carpenter for over 30 yrs., and then had a career change and become a real estate agent in 1986, and purchased his first real estate office.
Jerry ran many businesses over the years, a real estate office, a pawn shop, a costume house, a pub and liquor store and many commercial rental properties.
Jerry and Dauphne loved to travel and they travelled and cruised around the world. One of his favourite adventures was to travel to Egypt and see King Tut.
A celebration of his life will be held at Alexanders Beach Pub on February 19, 2023, from 1-4 p.m.
In lieu of flowers please donate to the BC Alzheimer's & Dementia Society.
