Gert Luscombe (nee Lovgren)

The family is announcing the passing of Gert Sept 25, 2022 in her home in Vernon, BC.
Born in Vernon Jubilee Hospital on Dec 26, 1923; she spent her childhood in Oyama, BC. Joining the Army; she met and married Frank. As their family grew; they were stationed in Chilliwack, Virginia, Washington D.C., Vancouver, Edmonton ending in Vernon. Later in life she met her partner Lou, living together in Vernon, Lethbridge, Winfield with their dog Freeway. She loved swimming, walking and playing cribbage. She lived a long life due to her fighting spirit that carried her through many medical challenges.
She is fondly remembered by her children Anne; Trudy (David); Frank (Cherry); Bob (Pam); Pat (Dawn); Ginny (Jay); Fifteen grandchildren, Nineteen great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her ex-husband Frank; partner Lou; children Norma Jean and Betsy; son-in-laws Al, Ken, Don; great grandchild Robbie and Robbie's father Paul.
We would like to thank the staff at Heron Grove; Dr. P. Henley and Veterans Affairs, for their care.
There will be a tea in her remembrance on Thursday October 13th 11:30-1:30 at Pleasant Valley Funeral Home with a celebration of Life in 2023, Mother's Day weekend. In lieu of flowers please donate to your local legion.
