Gertrude Agnes Anna Elmgren
April 3, 1929 – April 24, 2007
It is with deep sorrow that the family of Gertrude Elmgren announces the passing of their dear mother, grandmother and great grandmother April 24, 2007 at her home in Vernon, B.C.
Gertrude was born in Hanna, Alberta, April 3, 1929, she is survived by her 3 daughters Angela F. Altwasser (Richard), Maureen Ingram (Dave), all of Vernon, and Patricia Handriech (Steve) from Kamloops, her grandchildren Jerrie Lee Eyford (Randy) of Vernon, Tara-Jay Schwartz (Boyd) of Kelowna, Jason Handriech (Marcie), Steven Handriech, both of Kamloops, and Johie Tomiak (Al) of Vernon, David J. Ingram (Nicola) of Vancouver, also her great grandchildren, Hanna, Emma, Kendall and Jordynne from Vernon, and Dawson from Kamloops.
Gertrude’s sisters Betty Poirier (John) of Osgoode, Ont., Pat Reimer of Vancouver, Syd Moore (Irene) of Alberta, Tom Moore (Peggy) of Edmonton, Roger Moore (Alice) of Alberta and numerous nieces and nephews.
Gertrude was predeceased by her loving husband Garnet Elmgren, August 7, 2006.
Funeral arrangements are in the care of the Vernon Funeral Home. A private family service is requested. A luncheon to follow at the Eagles Hall, 5101-25th Avenue, at 11:30 A.M. for family and friends, Wednesday, May 2, 2007. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Arthritis Association or the B.C. Heart Foundation.
This has been a very sad day for us all, and you will be forever in our thoughts and our hearts.
