Gladys Anne “Happy”
was born on December 1st, 1941 in Willingdon, Alberta and passed away on October 10th, 2010 in Hospice House at the age of 68 years.
She will be lovingly remembered by her husband Ben, to whom she was married for 34 years; one son, Darcy (Kim) Darby of Calgary, Alberta; two grandchildren, Colton and Amoryn; two brothers, Bill (Mona) Ewoniak of Edmonton, Alberta and Ken (Irma Heintz) Ewoniak of Calgary, Alberta; and numerous extended family members. Gladys was preceded in death by her beloved sister, Betty Lou Ewoniak.
Gladys was a very loving wife and mother and her grandchildren were the light of her life. Family were the most important people in her life and she loved to spend time with them. Gladys was a woman who loved people and everyone who met her was attracted to her because of her warm, outgoing personality. Gladys had a long time career with the CIBC which spanned over 40 years and following her retirement she was fortunate to find part time employment with Northern Reflections in the Village Green Mall. Gladys was a very social lady who loved playing cards and Bingo.
In respecting Gladys’ wishes, she was cremated and there will be no funeral service held. As an expression of sympathy, those who wish to do so may send donations in memory of Gladys to the North Okanagan Hospice Society, 3506-27th Avenue, Vernon, B.C. V1T 1S4.
