TANCOCK, Gladys Evelyn

October 2nd, 1921 ~ April 15th, 2014

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our Mother, Gladys Tancock (nee Clark), at the age of 92 years, on April 15th, 2014 in Vernon, BC. Gladys will be lovingly remembered by her children: Gary (Judy), Brian (Janet), Robert (Theresa), Dianne (John) and Noeline (Ray) , ten grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Sadly she was predeceased by her husband, Ted, in 1967, four sisters and five brothers. Born in New Zealand, the eldest of twelve children, she is survived by sisters, Rose and Elma. Mom and Dad met in New Zealand in 1940 while he was on a working holiday. Ted served courageously for the New Zealand Forces during WW2 and after their marriage they came to Ladner, BC to settle near Ted’s family, where Mom remained until 2007 when she moved to Vernon to be closer to her family. A Memorial Service will be held on May 31st 1:30 pm at the Ladner United Church (4960 48th Avenue, Delta, BC). Donations in memory of Gladys may be made to the Parkinson Society of BC (600 – 890 West Pender Street, Vancouver, BC V6C 1J9) or the BC Cancer Society (565 West 10th Avenue, Vancouver, BC V5Z 4J4) .
